Are the maps 3D printed?
No, all of our maps are printed on high quality 2D paper (Hahnemühle Museum Etching) and thus are flat to the touch.
The incredibly realistic shading creates the illusion of 3D art, even at close range.
What is Hahnemühle Museum Etching?
Hahnemühle Museum Etching is a heavyweight, natural white cotton paper with a premium matte coating designed for high-quality inkjet printing. Developed for artists, it offers vivid colors, deep blacks, and exceptional detail without optical brighteners, ensuring stability and age resistance. Its textured surface adds depth and a tactile, three-dimensional quality, making it ideal for fine cartographic art.
What is the paper specification for Hahnemühle Museum Etching?
Detailed paper specifications of Hahnemühle Museum Etching can be found here.
Are these maps artistic or can they be used for real-world purposes, such as navigation?
Our maps are designed as works of art. While they use real-world data and accurately depict geographic locations, they are not intended for navigation or other practical purposes.
Their main function is to serve as beautiful, decorative pieces that bring the aesthetic appeal of cartography into your space. For any navigation needs, we recommend using dedicated, up-to-date navigation tools and maps.
**For the Renovated Maps please note that the readability of text on our maps may be affected by the original map's age, the font size, and the artistic elements of the design. Additionally, while efforts have been made to clean and restore the original map, remnants of its history, such as signs of use, minor tears, and/or staining may still be visible.**
